Dr. Jon Grant DVM Veterinarian Cat Dog Telemedicine Online Vet Appointments

If you’re here, you’re looking to connect with a veterinarian who can guide you in caring for your beloved pet. Look no further … I’m here to help.

Have we met? I’m Dr. Jon Grant

I’ve been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery for a for more than 40 years …

And in that time I’ve accumulated not just a wealth of knowledge about animal welfare, but also about the incredible bond between people and their pets.

I’ve smiled, laughed, and cried with my clients over the years. I deeply understand the ups and downs of long-term pet care — and my greatest passion is to help shepherd my clients through the sometimes confusing maze of pet care.

After establishing two very large mixed practices (dogs & cats), I went on to create Arizona’s premier “cats only” veterinary hospital.

These days, I spend my time in my online practice on the Vetster.com platform, where you can book an appointment with me personally to discuss your pet’s health.

Use the button below to book an appointment with me, or keep reading to learn more about the animals I help, what services I offer, how the Vetster.com platform works, and what to expect when you book.

Book An Appointment In 3 Easy Steps …

  • I serve my clients via a platform called Vetster.

When you click any of the “Book an Appointment” buttons, you’ll be taken directly to my profile on Vetster, where you can see any of my available appointments + pricing.

How I can help you …

I currently work with dogs and cats.

(Sadly, I do not have skills to represent snakes, farm animals, or pocket pets.)

My 40+ year career has been focused on feline and canine veterinary medicine and surgery, and I’m happy to provide you with a consult regarding general health and wellness … or with more specific questions — such as behavioral concerns, nutritional advice, gastrointestinal issues, etc.

Second opinion

I’m also happy to provide a second opinion. When you book on the Vetster platform using the button below, you’ll be able to upload X-rays, charts, and other test results, should you desire.

Medications (Only available for Arizona residents)

Currently, due to federal and state restrictions regarding veterinary telemedicine, I cannot prescribe medications for your pet. (The exception is for residents of Arizona, where I can prescribe.)

However, I’m happy to discuss prescription recommendations with you, so that you can discuss them with a veterinarian in person, should the need for medications arise.

Don’t take my word for it …

(Here’s what my clients are saying … )

“Asked professional and expert level questions”

Dr. Grant had same day virtual apt available. He reviewed documentation that I provided prior to apt, asked professional and expert level questions to help diagnose, he assessed my kitten, and provided clear communication and rationale and next steps. He also provided written documentation within one hour. Based on his help, I was able to work with the rescue organization that I adopted my kitten from to get him more help.

“Dr. Grant was great.”

What a great experience! I was able to book a same day appointment and Dr. Grant was great. He is very professional, knowledgeable and kind. He listened to all my concerns, looked to see what was going on and asked relevant questions to gain an understanding about my dog's skin condition. Dr. Grant was able to diagnose and provided verbal and written (write up sent about an hour later) action for me to take, as well as what to look out for in the future. I will definitely be reaching out for additional needs.

—Allison

“Kind, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable.”

I was a bit skeptical of an online vet appointment. After meeting with Dr. Grant I’m sold. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, asked questions (that didn’t come right out of a textbook), listened to my concerns, gave good advice and put me/my kitty on a sound plan. Overall, I felt so comfortable with the interaction. Dr. Grant clearly cared about the wellbeing of my kitty. Would definitely recommend to other fur parents and would like to see again!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Currently, due to federal and state restrictions regarding veterinary telemedicine, I cannot prescribe medications for your pet. (The exception is for residents of Arizona, where I can prescribe.)

Hopefully, as the laws catch up with the telehealth industry, this will change.

Until then, I’m happy to discuss recommendations with you, so that you can discuss them with a veterinarian in person, should the need for medications arise.

  • Yes! Telemedicine can help assess the urgency of a situation and guide pet owners on whether an after hours emergency hospital visit is necessary.

  • Telemedicine is not a substitute for regular in person Veterinary care.

It is important to have your pet examined annually by a family Veterinarian and follow their recommendations. That’s because there are aspects of an annual exam that need to be done in person, so your family vet can see and touch your pet as part of routine health care.
